Why are you attending GroundSwell Institute:
"There are some missing links in my education when it comes to business. I was an economics and government major and I did well, but I have no understanding of how to evaluate, organize, and manage a business. And there is no question that I am going to start a number of them in my life. Obviously, this is not good. I don’t know what to focus on and don’t have a bird’s eye view of situations. That being coupled with a shoe string budget ski racing’s mentality, I didn’t want to spend heaps of money and two years of my life pinned down in one place for grad school."
Explain your experience working through GroundSwell’s content and how (if) you can apply what you have learned so far:
"Actually, the content is very interesting and powerful. There is no questions that it will help my transition from world class skier to business person. Bob has done a very good job of curating the content so we grasp the big picture concepts and don’t get too caught in endless details. As an athlete representative and board member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, my new understanding of financial statement helps paint the picture of what the USSA is going through and where they are spending money."
